St Luke's 41st Book Sale
During its long life St Luke's Book Sale has grown steadily, both in the quality and the quantity of books offered, and in the wonderful support given by the wider church and the general community throughout the state. In 2007 a record $10 000 was raised, as always for the benefit of children in need.
Sadly, however, the work associated with the sale has also increased to a degree where our ageing group of volunteers felt they could no longer continue. Expressions of interest from various groups were invited after the 2007 sale. To the great satisfaction of the Book Sale Committee, Taroona High School 'took up the baton', with proceeds to be shared equally between Chaplaincy in the school and the School Library.
Accordingly, this year's sale will be run as:
TAROONA HIGH SCHOOL BOOK SALE
(Formerly St Luke's Book Sale)
On the same day as always --
The second Saturday in July (12 July)
At the same time as before: 9.00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.
but with a change of venue - Taroona High School (Bus stop 37)
To facilitate the changeover, St Luke's volunteers are actively involved this year in helping the new committee. We are hoping that the support we have received in the past from so many people will continue as the Book Sale begins a new phase of its life.
Donations of books are urgently required for this landmark sale.
