Summerview 2008 at Camp Banksia, Port Sorell

CMS Tasmania Branch

Children on stage carrying candles

We praise and thank God that this year's Summerview saw attendances up by 50% from last year. In spite of the larger attendances, the Tasmania Summerview has kept its 'family feel' and warm Tassie friendliness.

It was a real thrill to see new faces. The packed programme included overseas speakers Don Carson and Rose Dowsett and missionaries from Slovenia (the Sheads), Northern Territory (the Tremletts) and Mexico (the Fletchers).

One of the activities was assembling a giant jigsaw of the world featuring the countries where CMS Australia missionaries are serving. Spare time in the afternoon saw us at the nearby beach, on the golf course, down at the bakery or catching up on some sleep.

Children and youth were well catered for.

Overall, it was a great time of learning, fellowship and personal challenge for all ages.
