Liz Burns was told that the areas of Lusahunga and Biharamulo in Tanzania were spiritually poor areas before she travelled there with a team of eight evangelists to show the Jesus movie. Liz found that while their understanding of Christianity was limited, their response to the gospel was enthusiastic.
As the team travelled to four locations over 1500 people saw the gospel of Luke on film and heard explanations of the story. After the showings several people went forward to make commitments or recommitments to Christ and others went away challenged in their thinking.
Liz also taught Genesis 1-3 in the villages, explaining what sin is and why we need to read the Bible. At each location the team answered many questions from villagers and responded to misunderstandings. They then went on to lead groups in Bible studies on the book of James.
Over 200 people attended these teaching sessions and afterwards more than 280 people purchased Bibles. The Bible stall ran out of stock but the team was able to leave behind Bible study materials on James at each village. They are praying that God works in the lives of people as they read his word for themselves.
