Poem - God moves

God moves,
God works
today –
not always
in a crashing crescendo
of orchestral cymbals,
and percussion accompaniment,
not always
in a fanfare of brass
and flag waving;
nor with
clarion calls
and carillon ringing.
God moves,
God works
today –
sometimes
silently;
sometimes
in unmistakeable
majesty and might.
But who’s to say
if he may choose
a new and different way,
and refuse to stay
in the box
we place him in?
