A lot can happen...
As Bishop John sees it, a lot can happen in two months.
I was bitten by a snake. Christmas went Argentine with Priscilla and Celeste, missionaries in Kingston from Buenos Aires. Tears were shed as we farewelled our grandchildren to the USA. Cherries were shared at CMS Summerview in Port Sorell. Two clergymen accepted appointments in Tasmania. Young people decided for Jesus at Anglican Camps.
A lot can happen at the gathering of God's people.
Don Carson in his CMS Summerview studies reminded us that Nehemiah assembled the people of God as an integral part of re-establishing the city of Jerusalem and God's holy work there.
A lot can happen as we gather as God's people.
What God is doing and will do at The Gathering, 1st March is beyond our imagining. This is our theme and our dream: Beyond Imagination - The Gathering.
A lot can happen as we launch The Imagine Project.
The three local mission projects we have imagined will inject resources into grass roots mission and also help us to learn about doing grass roots mission. The learning and training from these mission projects will help a lot to happen.
A lot can happen with two Missioner Bishops.
Their focus on the stewardship of our resources for mission and the implementation and learning of mission will be invaluable. We need the experience of mission to be embedded in us; to be part of our DNA.
A lot will happen as we gather to imagine and celebrate being enlivened by the Holy Spirit, impacted by God's word, prayerful in action and taking risks in mission. This is a prophetic church, a generous church, a church of disciples, a servant church, a church in mission: a healthychurch . . . transforminglife.
I praise God for this. What joy!
