GFS World Council, Seoul Korea
During the Olympics in August 250 delegates and observers representing 18 countries met in Seoul, South Korea.
To be part of our GFS family was wonderful, but the common fellowship and love for the Lord certainly bonded us more closely. Ruth Choi (GFS World President) and her team had certainly excelled in their preparations and hosting the council. The theme was 'Harmony, Hope in Serving', which they certainly did.
At council we had two very thought-provoking lectures to encourage us to look beyond ... to be aware of those suffering unjustly.
Seoul is a bustling, modern city of 10.4 million people and has five of the largest Christian churches in the world. Korea is a divided nation and as a symbol to end this division, Koreans are gathering shell cases from disputed and divided areas of the world and will melt them down to form the Peace Bell - to ring out new life in the World Peace Park.
