Bible Forum

Good Christian fellowship, a beautiful day, and terrific Bible teaching all made for a very successful Bible Forum held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Ulverstone on Saturday 11 October.

This was the third of this year's Bible Forums, and the first to be hosted in Ulverstone. Around 30 people attended from Anglican churches from as far afield as Riverlinks and Queenstown, with many in between. There were also members of other churches in the Ulverstone district.

Archdeacon for the North-west and West, the Ven. Jill McCoy provided the stimulating and encouraging input, with a series of three studies based in John's Gospel, entitled 'Life in Christ'.

We looked at 'Jesus Christ - source of life', 'Jesus Christ - life-giver', and 'Our life in Christ'. With a variety of approaches, including some thought provoking exercises, everyone went away feeling informed, and hopefully better equipped, to 'rightly handle the word of God.'

Koorong Bookshop in Launceston provided the Lion Handbook of the Bible at a much reduced price, and as this is a great tool for preachers and Bible students, many were purchased. The talks were all recorded and copies are available through the Riverlinks Parish Office.

A most rewarding time was enjoyed by all and future Bible Forums should be well-subscribed.
