Visitor from Palestine
The Revd Nael Abu Rahmoun is a priest in Ramullah, Palestine, and will be visiting Tasmania, sponsored by ABM-A during the second week in Lent. He will be the guest speaker at functions around the state.
Although the itinerary has not been completed at time of going to press, tentatively he will speak at an evening function in Devonport on Friday 6 March; an evening function in Launceston on Saturday 7, and at the 9am service at Cressy and 6pm Evensong at St David’s Cathedral on Sunday 8 March.
There will be opportunities for fellowship at each of these meetings. Please be prepared to travel across town or to another parish to meet with Revd Nael. You will be undoubtedly welcomed with open arms. ABM-A supports hospitals in the Ramullah area, including one in Gaza City. This is an opportunity to hear how ABM-A’s mission is carried out in these areas.

Partners and Projects
ABM-A works principally in partnership with churches which are members of the Anglican family. They work on projects which have been requested by the partner church providing both spiritual and sociological support for groups. All parishes should have copies of the Projects magazine outlining the projects for 2009. There are opportunities for a whole parish or for individuals to support selected projects. Extra copies may be obtained from the Sydney Office (1300 302 663) or from Anglican Resources at St Mark's, Bellerive.
The ABM-A magazine Partners is published regularly and is available free of charge. The new-style edition, introduced last year, come in A5 size and is suitable for inserting in parish newsletters.
Lent Resource materials are now available, free of charge. These include materials suitable for use with young people.
Discussion Point DVD
Participants at last year’s clergy conference were offered a showbag which included a DVD produced by Stephen Daughtry who is likely to be the guest speaker at the Synod Mission Dinner in May. There were two short films which showed how ABM-A supports partner churches in the Philipines. One film was entitled Rubbish Dump Kids and the other From Cows to Comfort Stops. Stephen spent time in the Middle East late in 2008 where he made a similar DVD. These will be available shortly.
