New school year – new beginnings
School Chaplain Scott Sargent washed the Head Prefect's feet to emphasise the servant role.
First day at school
It was exciting to visit Junior School one afternoon and talk to the Kindergarten students on their first school day; they loved the sandpit, painting, listening to stories and looked a little tired from that first day full of activity.
Beginning 2009 for the Year 12s with their induction service at St David’s Cathedral was a memorable moment for them. Our new Chaplain, the Revd Scott Sargent, spoke of servant leadership and the model that Jesus provides in serving others.
Jesus washed the feet of those he served as leader and Chaplain Scott took the opportunity to wash some feet, including our Head Prefect’s, to emphasise the importance of servant leadership.
Commissioning of our Chaplain
Recently the Rt Revd John Harrower, Bishop of Tasmania, commissioned the Revd Scott Sargent as our new School Chaplain.
The service was held in Linmor Hall and included representatives from our school community who presented Scott with gifts to represent his ministry in our community.
The music for the service, provided by Anne Morgan, Head of Expressive Arts; Jo St Leon, Head of Strings; and our SPA Singers, was simply beautiful.
We welcome Chaplain Scott to Collegiate.
