The last threads are counted

Recently a group of ladies at St Luke's Church, Taroona packed the final seven parcels bound for India. Some of the parcels can be seen in the photo.

Reluctantly it was decided to discontinue this outreach which began over 30 years ago, when a group of senior citizens at the Parish of Holy Trinity, Hobart, led by the late Mrs Marjorie Palmer, sent the first parcel of baby's clothing to Kashmir.

Knitters all over the Diocese have given generously to this ministry, with the result that over the years more than 200 large parcels of beautifully knitted garments have been sent to children in Northern India.

In more recent years, garments have also been given to World Vision for distribution to children in need.

On behalf of our friends in India, we give thanks to all who have been involved in this ministry.
