The Imagine Project 4
Southern Tasmanian Imagine Project
Heartz & Horses
As the Huon Project’s name has evolved, so has the ministry begun to take on it’s own unique shape. At present we have three distinct contact groups.
We have our Art Group who meet on a Friday, and some attend a reflection time beforehand. We meet up at our local Pub on a Sunday evening and catch up. We have our neighbourhood and shared horse connecting activities, Riding and Horse Care.
All these activities create opportunities to journey with people and deepen relationships.
I am on the reference committee for Equispire, a program put together by Aspire where Huon Women with mental health issues can connect with horses and other healthy activities.
I am on the Huon Hoofbeats Riding Club committee as well as TRAC, Trail Riders Action Group.
All these connections create relationships which can grow and deepen, but all this takes time.
We recently acquired a new horse, a free gift, his name is Kupa, which means ‘Given’ in Swahili. He is a sensitive boy, an ex-pacer, but I believe he will settle with us and be a real asset to the ministry.
In June last year, my sister Alex came over from Bendigo to live with me and join the Heartz team and just this last week end, Annette Sims has come to live here as well to be part of the team.
We have many ideas for the future and now we have more people power we should be able to cover more ground more quickly.
On Easter Day we plan a dawn Reflection by the River followed by a breakfast cooked on the fire with billy tea.
We hope to begin Christianity Explored in someone’s home very soon.
We hope to start up a monthly film night.
We hope to start a program which will connect young people at risk with horses.
We eventually hope to create a community where we can be God’s incarnational people reflecting the love and hope of God to those around us.
