The Imagine Project 5
Somerset Imagine Project
In December 2009 our temporary venue at the West Somerset Primary School became unavailable due to school amalgamation and building programs.
Once again we took this opportunity to meet in ANZAC park, Somerset and the Somerset Surf Life Saving Club – placing our gatherings in the community.
Over the Summer we have seen lives impacted and changed by the gospel, and were blessed to welcome new members to the body of Christ.
Our time in the park provided us with the opportunity to be involved in our community in a very visible way, culminating in our participation in the Foreshore Fiesta Read more about that here.
A Summer Evening series brought biblical teaching to what it means to be Men, Women, to be in Relationship and Community. These were times of great honesty and openness and engagement with the real things of life.
A significant event in the life of our community occured during January with the commissioning of the Revd Will Briggs as locum tenens of the Parish of Burnie and Joshua Skeat as part-time Authorised Lay Minister for the Connections congregation. You can read all about it here.
As the Connections Summer ends and we begin this new season in the life of our community, we have been blessed once again with a venue, this time at the other local primary school. We are particularly thankful for the facilities that are available to us at the school to run our Kids Learning Time programs.
We look forward to this season in this venue and pray that we are able to be a blessing to the Somerset community during our time here.
