Almost retiring

Taking life more slowly but continuing to serve

The Revd Peter North recently gave his last service in the chapel at the Launceston General Hospital. Originally from the West Coast, Peter retired to Launceston and from 1996 he began chaplaincy work in the LGH.

The chaplaincy team of five was on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Of particular interest to Peter was the beautiful Huon pine furniture in St Paul's chapel. He is very familiar with this beautiful timber after his years of living on the West Coast.

Peter's retirement means he can take life more slowly, but he will continue to give services at Peace Haven in Launceston, and Presbyterian Care at Legana.
